Our new employees:

STACIE BLAIR
Stacie joined Ellington & Associates in June, 2011. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degree at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln under Dr. David K. Watkins. Her master’s thesis analyzed Upper Cretaceous nannofossil biostratigraphy and taxonomy from the Western Interior Seaway including the Niobrara Formation and the Austin Chalk (Blair & Watkins, 2009). She completed her PhD research in May, 2011 at Florida State University under Dr. Woody Wise and continued her research of Upper Cretaceous biostratigraphy from Ocean Drilling Program sediments on Demerara Rise (South America, Leg 207). Stacie’s PhD also included calibration of nannofossil events across the Oligocene/Miocene boundary (Blair, in revisions, Newsletters on Stratigraphy). She recently sailed as a nannofossil paleontologist on Integrated Ocean Drilling Program Leg 317 off the coast of New Zealand in the Canterbury Basin that drilled a Holocene-Eocene section (Exp 317 Scientists, 2011). This research focuses on the importance of “sequence biostratigraphy” including abundance fluctuations of in situ and reworked calcareous nannofossils within sedimentary sequences. During her graduate work, Stacie completed well and research projects during internships with BP America, Inc. and ExxonMobil. She continues Cenozoic and Cretaceous well work as both an onshore and offshore analyst.

JORDAN HOLL
Jordan joined Ellington & Associates, Inc. in April 2011. She is a recent graduate of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln where she studied under Dr. David Watkins. As a student, she specialized in micropaleontology and geology. Her undergraduate work included two research projects entitled “Eocene Sea Surface Temperature Trends at Exmouth Plateau Using Calcareous Nannofossils” and “Evidence for Turbidite Flows in the Ainsa Basin Based on Calcareous Nannofossils”. As an employee at Ellington & Associates, she has learned to how to prepare samples and capture digital images using software for ChromaLog™ analysis and Chromastratigraphy™. She has also learned foraminifera and nannofossils sample preparation techniques and how to test for Total Organic Carbon (TOC). Jordan is excited about working for the company and all the opportunities to learn new technologies and skills.
